Warriors predicted to trade Steph Curry to Raptors for $250M promising duo in 3-team mega deal

The Golden State Warriors have had a disappointing summer, to say the least. Golden State was once considered a favorite to sign LeBron James and even explored the possibility of trading for Anthony Davis.

Neither of those moves came to fruition, leaving many fans disappointed by what could have been. Instead, the Warriors have largely brought back players who have been with the organization over the past few seasons.

“The Warriors are officially running it back despite missing the playoffs last season. Golden State re-signed Draymond Green, Kristaps Porzingis, Al Horford, De'Anthony Melton, and Gary Payton II this summer," NBA writer Jake Weinbach posted.

With the Warriors' roster leaving plenty to be desired, many have begun to wonder what the future holds for Steph Curry. ESPN’s Kendrick Perkins has even urged Curry to find a way out of Golden State.

“Steph needs to be planning his exit strategy from the Golden State Warriors," said Perkins on 'NBA Today'. "Think about it, over the last four years, the Warriors have been in the play-in tournament. And this year, the way that the West is stacked up, they're gonna be a play-in tournament team again. You can't waste any more time hoping and banking that Mike Dunleavy is gonna get it right or is gonna make the moves that are needed to make sure that you can compete for a title, especially in a tough Western Conference.

If the Warriors ultimately decide to trade Curry, they could begin building toward another potential dynasty. In a proposed trade by Heavy.com’s Adel Ahmad, Curry would be sent to the Toronto Raptors in a three-team deal involving the Dallas Mavericks.

“Raptors receive: Steph Curry and Caleb Martin. Warriors receive: Immanuel Quickley, P.J. Washington, Ja’Kobe Walter, a 2028 first round pick (via TOR) and two second round picks (via TOR). Mavericks receive: RJ Barrett,” Ahmad wrote.

This would likely be a difficult adjustment for Curry, as he would not want to finish his career anywhere other than Golden State. For the Warriors, however, the move would give them multiple young pieces who could become building blocks for the future.

Washington and Quickley are making a combined $250 million on their current contracts. Golden State knows Curry's career is eventually going to come to an end, so the organization could consider getting significant value in return while it still can. At the end of the day, Curry could always return to Golden State in free agency.
