Warriors locked in battle with Knicks, Heat, Timberwolves for Bucks' $175 million two-time MVP

Completing a blockbuster trade won’t be easy for the Golden State Warriors, as other teams have their sights set on the same assets.

Take the Milwaukee Bucks’ standout forward, for example. ClutchPoints’ Brett Siegel recently reported that the Warriors are battling with the New York Knicks, Miami Heat, and Minnesota Timberwolves for the electric two-time MVP and NBA champion star.

“The Knicks, Wolves, Heat, and Warriors have all discussed Giannis (Antetokounmpo) trades with the Bucks,” Siegel wrote on X/Twitter Monday.

“The (Brooklyn) Nets, as mentioned in today's story, are a team with known interest around the league in Giannis. They have NOT called about Giannis.”

There’s a good chance a potential Antetokounmpo trade goes down to the wire. With the 10-time All-Star having multiple suitors and the Bucks being willing to wait until the offseason to trade him, there’s always a possibility that a deal gets postponed.

It’s well-documented that the Warriors would be doomed in that scenario, as they wouldn’t have the pieces necessary to make a memorable championship run. Jimmy Butler won’t recover from his ACL tear in time for the postseason, and Stephen Curry’s supporting cast simply won’t get the job done.

If the Warriors were wise, they would consider mortgaging their future for a needle-moving asset in Antetokounmpo who could help the franchise win a title now.
