After proving to be one of the best teams in NBA history throughout much of the past decade or so, the Golden State Warriors clearly aren't the same team that they once were.
The Warriors still have a chance to be a good team because Stephen Curry and others are still elite, but the harsh reality is that guys aren't the same players they once were.
This Warriors roster is also very different from what it was during other parts of what was considered a dynasty.
As for guys like Draymond Green, he's late in his career.
There haven't been any rumors suggesting that Green is going to retire just yet, but his recent comments make it seem like it's not as far away as some might think.
“I would love to play basketball next year…if that’s not here, I’m not going to retire,” Green said, H/T ClutchPoints. “If I don’t (fit into the team's plans), great. But I’m extremely grateful for the journey that I’ve been on here.”
“I don’t know how many years I have left in the NBA, let alone at this place. For me, it’s all about enjoying what’s in front of us.”
Green signed a new deal with the Warriors during the offseason, an interesting move after trade rumors swirled around him.
The 36-year-old Green will turn 37 in March of next year, so it's understandable if he decides to hang them up.
There's a lot that's going to come into a situation like this, though it sounds like it's at least a possibility as of now.
