The Golden State Warriors entered the day with only one second-round draft pick (No. 41 overall).
However, the organization completed a trade with the Phoenix Suns on Thursday evening that’ll give them two second-round selections in Brooklyn, New York.
“The Phoenix Suns are trading the Nos. 52 and 59 picks to the Golden State Warriors for No. 41,” ESPN’s Shams Charania reported.
While there’s no guarantee that the two second-rounders the Dubs select will pan out in the Bay, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about the available assets.
The organization could pair Stephen Curry with a new splash brother by selecting Kentucky sharpshooter Koby Brea.
If given the opportunity, Brea would thrive in a Warriors system that’s all about camping behind the three-point line and knocking down rhythm triples at a high rate.

The 6-foot-7 guard averaged 11.6 points per game on 47.0% field goal shooting and 43.5% three-point shooting.
Golden State could also consider drafting Auburn star center Johni Broome.
Although Broome’s putrid 24.5-inch vertical and 27.8% three-point shooting may raise concerns, there’s no doubt the Plant City, Florida native could develop into an upgrade over Kevon Looney and/or Quentin Post.
Broome, a traditional back-to-the-basket big man with an unstoppable left-handed jump hook and impeccable timing as a shot blocker, enjoyed a tremendous senior season with the Tigers.
The 2025 Sporting News Player of the Year averaged 18.6 points, 10.8 rebounds, and 2.1 blocks per game while shooting 51.0% from the field.
It would be in the Warriors’ best interest to give Brea and Broome a look on Thursday night.
