Walt Weiss reveals why he tackled Jorge Soler during Braves and Angels brawl

The Atlanta Braves are in the middle of a road trip and are facing the Los Angeles Angels. In the second game of the series, there was a wild brawl that broke out.

Jorge Soler and Reynaldo Lopez got into a fight after a Lopez pitch went above Soler's head. Lopez and Soler started throwing punches, that is, before Walt Weiss put an end to this brawl with a tackle of Soler.

After the game, Barrett Sallee of 680 The Fan shared Weiss's reason for tackling Soler. It's a simple reason, but one that is easy to understand.

Braves' Walt Weiss reveals why he tackled Jorge Soler

"I gotta get him off his feet, because he's gonna hurt somebody," Weiss said on his tackles of Soler.

This brawl could've been a whole lot worse had Weiss not ended it early with a tackle of Soler, as both the Angels slugger and Lopez were hot, and could've dragged more players into a fight, as was looking to be the case in the video Talkin' Baseball shared.

It is somewhat more interesting that Weiss tackled, or subdued, the player involved in the brawl who wasn't on his team. But his actions did help to end the fighting before things got too out of hand.

The Braves wound up winning this game 7-2 after the fifth-inning brawl, and Atlanta now sits tied atop the NL East with a 7-5 record.

Weiss has been winning over the Braves' fanbase with his management this season, and this moment, his decision to tackle Soler and help end the brawl early, will only make him all the more iconic for Braves fans.

How many fanbases can say their manager tackled an opposing player? And it wasn't done out of malice, but with the hope of ending the brawl, which had already seen multiple punches thrown by both teams' players.

The season is just beginning, as is Weiss's tenure as Braves manager, and this moment might be one of the most iconic of the year for both the MLB and for Weiss.
