‘Walking Dead’ zombies take over Penn Station — while clutching the New York Post

They’re dead men walking.

On Tuesday, zombies were spotted all over Manhattan – including outside Penn Station, where they were reading issues of The New York Post.

They were there as part of a series of pop ups “taking over” the city to promote Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City,” which is set in the Big Apple. The Post exclusively broke the news of these pop ups on Friday.

Lauren Cohan, the star and executive producer of the show, exclusively told The Post, “I’m really excited for fans to see what’s in store! This takeover is one of the biggest and most interactive experiences ‘The Walking Dead’ has ever done, and is the perfect way to kick off the new season.”

Starring Cohan and Jeffrey Dean Morgan, “The Walking Dead: Dead City” is set in a post-apocalyptic New York City.

Cohan and Morgan reprise their roles as Maggie and Negan, respectively, from the original “The Walking Dead,” which aired from 2010 to 2022.

The show is the fifth TV series in “The Walking Dead” franchise, but it’s the first direct sequel.

As part of the Season 2 promo, “walkers,” or zombies, were in various locations on Tuesday between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m.

They were reading the Post in Penn Station, and handing out special editions titled: “The Walking Dead: Dead City.”

The walkers also went to PopUpBagels on 7th Avenue, where the first 200 customers can pick-up a free PopUp Bagels three-pack, and they’ll also visit the AMC Networks Office.

The walkers will then head to the Empire State Building, where they’ll meet up with the cast, before making their way to Radio City Music Hall for photo ops.

At 7:10 p.m., it will be “The Walking Dead: Dead City” night at Citi Field.

Morgan and Cohan will throw out the first pitch at the New York Mets game when they take on the Arizona Diamondbacks. There will also be walkers there.

Chief content officer of “The Walking Dead” universe Scott M. Gimple exclusively told The Post, “The city belongs to the dead — six scary words from early in the show will come true…. to celebrate ‘The Walking Dead: Dead City’ returning for more stories in the post-apocalyptic Big Apple.”

He added, “With so many events and opportunities for East Coast fans to connect with the new season of the Dead City, I can’t wait to see NYC get TWD’d!”

Season 2 of “The Walking Dead: Dead City” premieres May 4 (AMC and AMC+ at 9 p.m.).
