Von Miller makes massive Commanders decision in free agency to chase a 3rd Super Bowl ring

One day, Von Miller will enter the Pro Football Hall of Fame, earning himself a gold jacket.

When he takes the stage in Canton, he'll be wearing at least two Super Bowl rings. But the legendary pass rusher isn't done yet. He wants one more.

And as a free agent this offseason after the Bills released him, Miller had his pick. What was the best path to earn one more ring?

He has made his decision. Miller is signing with the Washington Commanders.

NFL Network and ESPN both broke the news Wednesday night that Miller is Washington's newest signee.

Miller has one ring with the Broncos and another with the Rams. He most recently played for Buffalo, where injuries limited his ability to live up to a massive contract.

The 6-foot-3 legend is 36 years old now. It's a long, long time since he was the No. 2 overall pick by Denver in 2011 out of Texas A&M.

It's been quite the journey. Miller has made eight Pro Bowls. He was the Super Bowl 50 MVP.

In 186 career games, Miller has 129.5 sacks. He has forced 27 fumbles.

Miller may not be who he once was, but he did show life in 2024 with the Bills, recording 6.0 sacks in spot duty.

The Commanders probably won't roll Miller out there on every play. He'll get the key snaps in the big moments.

And given what Miller has done his whole career, it's safe to assume that a lot of the time, he'll still deliver.
