Braves predicted to trade $58 million closer in deadline fire sale

The 2025 season has not gone according to plan for the Atlanta Braves. After seven straight years in the postseason, Atlanta enters the second half 42-53 and likely out of contention.

They don't have a lot of impending free agents, so it might be a bit hard for them to sell at the trade deadline. But that doesn't mean they won't entertain offers for what trade chips they do have.

One of their biggest trade chips is closer Raisel Iglesias, who has struggled a bit in 2025 and hasn't quite been his usual dominant self.

Kerry Miller of Bleacher Report predicts Iglesias will be with a new team after the deadline.

"It's a bit late in the year for 'signs of life,' and the Braves still managed to lose two of those five games, now 9.5 games back in the race for the NL's third wild-card spot. They don't have much in the way of impending free agents to sell, but look for Marcell Ozuna and Raisel Iglesias to play August and September elsewhere."

Iglesias has posted a 4.42 ERA in 39 appearances with 11 saves this season. He also owns a 4-5 record.

However, playing for a team in contention could help him turn his season around. The Braves are likely out of the postseason picture barring a major turnaround.

He is a free agent at the end of the year, so it would make sense for Atlanta to shop him. While his value has likely taken a hit due to his struggles, the Braves could still bring back a decent return for the veteran right-hander.

Last season, the 35-year-old saved 34 games and posted a 1.95 ERA during the regular season, playing a big role in Atlanta grabbing a Wild Card spot.

Because of last year's success, he'll at least still have some value left. We'll see if the Braves shop him.
