Vladimir Guerrero Jr. isn't the only Blue Jays player projected to have a monster year

The Toronto Blue Jays come into the 2026 season with a ton of hype. After a World Series trip in 2025, they are making it their mission to be a contender once again.

Signing Dylan Cease should help the cause. He is projected to lead the rotation while new face Cody Ponce will serve as a middle-of-the-rotation starter.

And while they lost Bo Bichette, signing Kazuma Okamoto should lessen the sting that was felt by the fanbase.

Vladimir Guerrero Jr. isn't the only Blue Jays player projected to have a monster year

Looking over the horizon, you can almost guarantee that Vladimir Guerrero Jr. is set to have a good season. He is the heartbeat of this club and will play a huge role this upcoming season.

However, he is not the only one who is projected to have a monster year. The crew over at MLB.com tags Alejandro Kirk as a player to keep an eye on.

"By virtue of his value behind the plate, Kirk's 2025 fWAR well exceeded Guerrero's, but Guerrero's offensive ceiling is too high to be overlooked, even after another inconsistent year. Kirk is projected not just for the highest WAR season of his career but for the second highest among catchers, trailing only Cal Raleigh, while Guerrero's potential output splits the difference between his last two seasons."

Kirk is coming off a fantastic season where he was an All-Star for the second time in his career. Across 130 regular-season games, the slugger hit .282/.348/.421 with a career-high 15 home runs and a career-high 76 runs batted in.

On top of that, he has also controlled the game behind the plate well and has handled his pitching staff well. He comes into the season as the second-best catcher, right behind Cal Raleigh, according to ESPN's Buster Olney.
