Bayern Munich are desperate to land German international Florian Wirtz this summer. They have been tracking the young midfielder for many years, and finally they feel that they can secure his signature.
The 22-year-old is one of the hottest properties in the summer transfer market. Apart from Bayern, Liverpool and Manchester City were also interested in landing the German attacking midfielder.
Since then, City have retracted from their position, and now it is a tug-of-war between Liverpool and Bayern.
Recently, a Bayern Munich fan account on X (formerly Twitter), Bayern Space went viral with a tweet. The user shared some telling details regarding the Wirtz deal, highlighting how Bayern Munich are already out of the race and claimed Liverpool as the favourites to land him.
“I’m breaking my silence for this one tweet because there’s far too much misinformation circulating around Florian Wirtz, and it’s creating a wave of false hope within the Bayern fanbase that simply doesn’t reflect the reality," the user wrote on X.
“Florian Wirtz will not be joining Bayern Munich, and there is no version of events where this transfer happens anymore. The choice not to join Bayern has already been formally communicated to the board.”

While many people believe that Wirtz would choose Bayern, Liverpool are reportedly working silently in the background. The Liverpool chiefs had a meeting which happened in Boston last week, where the primary discussion was to sanction a club-record €150m (£126.5m, $169.7m) transfer fee to land the German international.
The tweet shared how Bayern went too far with their attempt to sign Wirtz and that irked both his family and Bayer Leverkusen.

Meanwhile, Liverpool reportedly were restrained with their pursuit and the Wirtz family were very impressed with Arne Slot's tactical presentation and the club's vision in the long run.
So, according to the X account, Wirtz may well be headed to Merseyside as the Reds are also preparing the bid to lure him away from Germany.
When can we expect an update from Wirtz?
Bayern Munich boss Vincent Kompany is keen to add Wirtz to the FIFA Club World Cup roster, therefore, as per recent reports, he may decide in the first week of June.
The 22-year-old has continued his great form for Leverkusen this season with 16 goals and 15 assists. He was also one of the only two players in the Bundesliga, along with Bayern's Michael Olise, to register 10-plus goals and assists simultaneously.
His current contract with the Bundesliga giants runs until 2027, so Leverkusen run the risk of him running down the contract. This is their last window to secure a bumper deal for the youngster.
