The Baltimore Orioles are in the midst of a dreadful season. At 16-32, they own the second worst record in the American League.
As a result, Baltimore may end up selling some pieces off at the trade deadline. The pitching staff has failed them this year, and they have plenty of pieces on expiring contracts.
One piece that could be available, though not on an expiring contract is former All-Star and AL Reliever of the Year Felix Bautista.
He is in his first year back from Tommy John surgery. Andrew Wright of Newsweek proposed the idea of Baltimore sending him to the Philadelphia Phillies
"Baltimore is expected to continue to struggle, meaning that several players could be on the move prior to this season's trade deadline. Bautista is in the second year of a two-year contract, making him a prime candidate," Wright wrote.

The Phillies have the best record in the National League, but need bullpen help, especially now with Jose Alvarado suspended 80 games and ineligible for the postseason.
Bautista had a 1.84 ERA in 2023 and saved 33 games, earning his lone All-Star nod and Reliever of the Year honors. He missed all of 2024 recovering from Tommy John surgery.
This year, he has struggled, posting a 4.30 ERA in 15 appearances, though he has saved seven games with Baltimore.
The Phillies also have a strong farm system, so they could potentially give Baltimore a haul of prospects for Bautista.
It will be interesting to see if the Orioles try to sell him off this summer.
