The Minnesota Vikings, Los Angeles Rams, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Indianapolis Colts will be in the quarterback market this offseason, and could be interested in a pending free-agent signal-caller from the Green Bay Packers.
Malik Willis is expected to be a hot commodity on the market after showing a ton of promise with Green Bay over the last two seasons, and A to Z Sports' Wendell Ferreira believes the Vikings, Rams, Steelers, and Colts are possible landing spots for the 26-year-old.
Willis has served as Jordan Love's backup in Green Bay since 2024, and when called upon to step up, he's risen to the occasion and showcased his dynamic skillset.
In two starts in 2024, Willis posted a 2-0 record with three passing touchdowns and zero interceptions. He also added a touchdown on the ground.
The Liberty product was even more impressive in 2025, completing 85.7% of his passes on 35 attempts in four game appearances.
Willis deserves a chance to compete for a starting job in 2026, and the Vikings, Steelers, Colts, and Rams could give him that opportunity.
Minnesota must acquire some type of competition for J.J. McCarthy this offseason. Signing Willis to push McCarthy and set up a training camp battle for the starting spot would be a logical move.
Indianapolis is expected to retain Daniel Jones as its starter in 2026, but if things go wrong there, Willis would be a solid fallback option. Jones is slated for a training camp return from this torn Achilles.
Los Angeles could pursue Willis if Matthew Stafford retires. The Packers' free agent signal-caller would be an exhilarating fit in Sean McVay's offense, and his mobility would add an element that Los Angeles has lacked at the quarterback position over the past few seasons.
Finally, Pittsburgh should also be a contender in the Willis market if Aaton Rodgers doesn't return for another year. Willis could succeed with Mike McCarthy and provide the Steelers with a viable bridge starter.
Overall, Willis should receive a chance to be a starter next season and also a massive payday. Spotrac projects the former Tennessee Titans draft pick will land a two-year deal worth $71 million with an average annual value of $35.5 million.
