San Francisco 49ers get massive trade update on Raiders DE Maxx Crosby

The San Francisco 49ers saw their season end in blowout fashion to the Seattle Seahawks in the divisional round of the playoffs. The 49ers had a long list of injuries this season, including losing both Nick Bosa and Fred Warner for the season, which ultimately led to their demise in the playoffs.

With that in mind, they could be on the lookout for another top-tier defender to help them get back to the Super Bowl, and one is reportedly available.

The 49ers should trade for Maxx Crosby

Las Vegas Raiders edge rusher Maxx Crosby has played for a lot of bad Raiders teams in his career, and 2025 marked the worst thus far. Vegas won just two games and owns the No. 1 overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Crosby and the Raiders had somewhat of a falling out at the end of the regular season, with the Raiders shutting down the star edge rusher in the final two weeks of the season despite him making it known he wanted to play. Because of this, there has been reported tension that could finally lead to Crosby playing elsewhere.

Speaking with Yahoo Sports, NFL insider Jay Glazer says Crosby's time with the Raiders is likely over.

"I do," Glazer said when asked if he believes Crosby's time with the Raiders is done.

Glazer adds that he believes the Raiders would land a haul greater than what the Dallas Cowboys received for Micah Parsons.

Should the 49ers add Crosby opposite of Bosa, they would easily have a top two pass rush duo in the NFL. While it would be costly, it would be more than worth it if they won a championship.
