J.J. McCarthy's Minnesota Vikings suffered a 19-17 loss to the Chicago Bears in Week 11 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. Vikings quarterback McCarthy went 16 of 32 for 150 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions as his team slumped to a 4-6 record.

When McCarthy threw his touchdown pass in the fourth quarter to give the Vikings a lead less than a minute before the final whistle, analyst Emmanuel Acho praised the QB on X for having "that clutch gene." However, Vikings legend Cris Carter wasn't too impressed with McCarthy for most of the game and pumped the brakes on the adulation for the signal-caller.

"Did you watch the first 59 mins ?" Carter tweeted, followed by a thumbs-down emoji, in response to Acho's analysis of McCarthy's TD pass.

While McCarthy has shown moments of magic, there have also been some costly errors that have hurt Minnesota.
