Victor Wembanyama's Shaolin training is straight out of 'Batman Begins'

Have you watched "Batman Begins"? If yes, the NBA version of Bruce Wayne is Victor Wembanyama.

Before becoming Batman, even Wayne had to discipline himself, and similarly, Wembanyama chose to spend his offseason in the mountains. The results are there for everyone to see as the San Antonio Spurs are just three wins away from advancing to the NBA Finals.

ESPN's Ramona Shelburne shared a detailed insight into Wemby's offseason that feels straight out of the Batman movie. In the Spurs star's intense Shaolin-monk offseason in China, Wembanyama dribbled a basketball up a dangerous mountain route to the Sanhuangzhai monastery in just 4.5 hours. An average person would have taken at least 7-8 hours to hike on foot as the route was filled with cliffside plank paths, suspension bridges, ancient forests and around 2,500 feet of elevation gain.

Seemingly, the "Batman" jokes received traction on internet as one fan wrote:

"Wemby really spent an offseason living the first 30 minutes of BATMAN BEGINS."

Wembanyama's holistic offseason also included spending time at Shaolin Temple learning meditation, kung fu principles and endurance training. Part of the reason behind such an approach to the offseason is rumored to be because of his blood clot scare last year.

Wembanyama also spent time with two-time NBA Finals MVP Hakeem Olajuwon during the offseason.

The Spurs star has followed the offseason with a breakout season in many ways. The former Rookie of the Year took the Spurs into the playoffs with the help of a 62-20 record in the regular season, placing San Antonio just behind the OKC Thunder in the Western Conference standings.

Wembanyama earned the Defensive Player of the Year and came third in the NBA MVP voting. In the playoffs, his Spurs defeated the Portland Trail Blazers and the Minnesota Timberwolves to reach the Western Conference Finals. He dropped 40+ points and 20+ rebounds in Game 1 win against the Thunder.

The way the Spurs forward is playing, he seems to be in his zone.
