The NBA has officially confirmed the dates for the announcement of the remaining major regular-season awards for the 2025-26 season. Fans can look forward to the reveal of the full All-NBA teams, All-Defensive teams, and the Coach of the Year results during a special playoff broadcast on Sunday night.
Shai Gilgeous-Alexander already secured his second straight MVP award after finishing ahead of Nikola Jokic and Victor Wembanyama in one of the strongest MVP races in recent years. Gilgeous-Alexander received 939 total points and 83 first-place votes after averaging 31.1 points while shooting 55.3% from the field.
Jokic finished second after another dominant year with the Denver Nuggets, while Wembanyama placed third and added the NBA Defensive Player of the Year trophy to his season résumé.
The race for the All-NBA team is heating up as Luka Doncic and Cade Cunningham are now in the running after being allowed to join because of special rules for players who missed games. Cunningham had to sit out for a while due to a serious health issue, specifically a collapsed lung that was discovered in March.
A global panel of 100 sportswriters and broadcasters submitted ballots for every major award category. Those ballots will determine the final positionless All-NBA teams along with the All-Defensive selections.
For Coach of the Year, Joe Mazzulla is widely viewed as the frontrunner after guiding Boston through injuries and another strong regular season. J.B. Bickerstaff and Mitch Johnson are the other finalists for the Red Auerbach Trophy.
The NBA will announce its final regular-season honors over a one-week period in late May. The schedule begins tonight, Wednesday, May 20, with the All-Rookie Teams, followed by the All-Defensive Teams on Friday, May 22. The highly anticipated All-NBA Teams will be revealed on Sunday, May 24, and the announcements will conclude on Tuesday, May 26, with the Coach of the Year award.
