If Venezuela's coaches had to take the field to play in the World Baseball Classic, they'd be in great shape.
The staff includes legends Miguel Cabrera, Johan Santana and Victor Martinez, all trying to lead this latest group of Venezuela stars to a WBC title.
Cabrera has been shown often on broadcasts. He's the hitting coach for Venezuela, and he's certainly getting quite into each game while he watches from the side.
The legendary right-handed hitter was one of the best players of his generation and now is passing that on to those who have come after him.
Santana is the pitching coach, meaning he gets to provide tutelage to the arms trying to get Venezuela to the title.
The former southpaw standout had his MLB career cut shorter than would've been ideal due to injury, but at his peak, he was one of the best pitchers in baseball.
Fittingly, the pitcher starting the championship game against Team USA is Eduardo Rodriguez, a left-handed pitcher who wears No. 57 for most of his career -- like Santana.

Then there's Martinez, who is the assistant manager under the leadership of Omar Lopez.
Martinez was a switch-hitting mastermind who started his career as a catcher and ended it at first base.
Given his background behind the plate and from both sides of the batter's box, he has all sorts of potential wisdom to provide.
It'd be tough for a coaching staff to be more stacked than Venezuela's is.
