The Golden State Valkyries continue to defy expectations, as the team will once again compete in the playoffs after debuting last season.

Last year, Golden State reached the playoffs with 23 wins. This year, the team has improved dramatically by sitting as a top team in the WNBA standings.

Despite trading Flau'jae Johnson during the WNBA Draft, the team has thrived. That's thanks to the efforts of Veronica Burton, Kayla Thornton, and new signing Gabby Williams. Meanwhile, Golden State has Janelle Salaun, the leading candidate for Sixth Player of the Year.

Valkyries 2026 playoff schedule

The Valkyries do not yet know their opponent in the WNBA Playoffs.

WNBA Playoffs 2026 bracket

The WNBA Playoff bracket is confirmed, with eight teams now locked into the postseason.

First round matchups will feature the No. 1 seed vs. No. 8, No. 2 vs. No. 7, No. 3 vs. No. 6 and No. 4 vs. No. 5 in a best-of-three series. The semifinals will be a best-of-five series while the finals will be best-of-seven.
