- Magnificent Seven: Nvidia (NVDA) rises 0.6%, with the semiconductor giant slated to report first quarter results on Wednesday.
- Alphabet (GOOGL) -0.6%, Microsoft (MSFT) -0.7%, Apple (AAPL) -0.6%, Meta Platforms (META) -0.8%, Amazon (AMZN) -0.8%, Tesla (TSLA) -1.5%
- Bio-Rad Laboratories (BIO) gains 8% as activist investor Elliott Investment Management has built a sizable stake in the company to boost the firm’s underperforming stock price, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing people familiar with the matter.
- Dominion Energy Inc. (D) climbs 13% as NextEra Energy Inc. agreed to pay about $67 billion in stock for the company. The deal will create a giant utility extending from Florida to the data centers clustered in Virginia.
- EchoStar (SATS) gains 3%, Rocket Lab (RKLB) rises 2% and AST SpaceMobile (ASTS) climbs 2% rise as billionaire Elon Musk said he’s back in Texas working on plans for an initial public offering of SpaceX.
- LiveRamp (RAMP) gains 27% as Publicis Groupe SA agreed to buy online data broker for about $2.5 billion in cash, a sign of the French media firm’s continued investment in marketing technology as the advertising industry contracts.
- Regeneron Pharmaceuticals (REGN) falls 11% after saying a key late-stage melanoma study failed, adding to a series of challenges for the US biotech.
- UnitedHealth (UNH) falls 3% after Berkshire Hathaway exited its stake in the health insurer.
