It's a two-year rolling system, so darts players are constantly defending prize money from events they played in 24 months ago.

The rankings go beyond the top-32, but all players want to be in the top 32 and, if possible, the top 16.
The top-32 players at the end of the year are seeded at the WC, and the top-16 players are automatic qualifiers for events like select majors and the European Tour.
