ROS Rankings 2025: Fantasy position notes

QB ROS Rankings

  • Through nine weeks, Patrick Mahomes is the QB1 overall. With his offense finally healthy and in full force, he's a top 5 QB easily.
  • Drake Maye is the QB3 ahead of Week 10, but he's averaging 2.3 fewer FPPG than Josh Allen, who is QB4.
  • Though the injury looked worse, Jayden Daniels was not placed on IR. It's hard to know when he'll return, but at this moment it seems likely he will.
  • Since starting over the past three weeks, Jacoby Brissett is QB14. His ceiling is not too high, but his floor feels safe.
  • It feels like fantasy managers are grossly overthinking Joe Flacco. Since getting traded to Cincinnati, he has been the QB2 in fantasy football from Weeks 6 to 9.

RB ROS Rankings

  • If CMC stays healthy, he is by far and away the RB2 in fantasy. The workload is absurd, and the production has been great.
  • The only reason CMC is not the RB1 is because Jonathan Taylor exists. He's unbelievably ahead of CMC, and it won't be close.
  • I still have Ashton Jeanty as the highest rookie RB, despite preferring Quinshon Judkins for his remaining SOS.
  • With no Braelon Allen for a while, RB16 feels like a floor for Breece Hall. However, the tension seems high after the trade deadline.
  • Chase Brown being at RB17 still feels generous, but they are in a much better spot with Joe Flacco playing the way he has.
  • Despite the slow start, I have TreVeyon Henderson slightly ahead of Rhamondre Stevenson. Henderson will continue to increase his role.

WR ROS Rankings

  • Rashee Rice is my WR4 overall because of his clear, steady role in this Chiefs offense. Since returning from suspension, he's been the WR2 overall from Weeks 7 to 9.
  • Ja'Marr Chase's fantasy value was saved by a QB named Joe, and it wasn't Joe Burrow? No, it was Joe Flacco who has been playing out of his mind. So, if you drafted Chase at the 1.01, send Flacco a thank-you card.
  • It feels like nobody is talking about the season that Jaxon Smith-Njigba is having. On the season, he is the overall WR1 in all of fantasy football. This is why he is my WR2.
  • George Pickens is going to finish lower than people think now that CeeDee Lamb is back. Pickens was the WR3 when Lamb was absent. While the volume won't change drastically, I'm concerned that the big-game ability has diminished.
  • All three of the Chargers' WRs are still fine fantasy options. It will be a headache to know when each one will have their big games, but they are all still good.

TE ROS Rankings

  • Brock Bowers is quite good at football, in case anyone was wondering. Without a shadow of a doubt, he is the TE1 in fantasy football.
  • With injuries in mind, Trey McBride leads all TEs in targets with 75. He is nine targets ahead of Jake Ferguson, who is number two.
  • Travis Kelce is TE10 in these rankings. This continues a streak that goes all the way back to 2013, where rookie Kelce wasn't a top 10 fantasy TE, the only time in his career.

D/ST & K ROS Rankings

Not much should change in how you address these two positions. I've been consistent with the advice: stream your defenses and kickers on a week-to-week basis.

It does not matter if you have the best defense in football; if the Denver Broncos play the Bills, you need to start another defensive unit.

I'll concede a bit. I would play Brandon Aubrey every week. Chances are, if you have him, you drafted him way too early. However, he is truly the only exception.

For defenses, target alarming offenses and young quarterbacks. For kickers, always look for who is playing indoors; this completely negates any weather factors.

How fantasy players should use ROS rankings

The best way to make this tool helpful for you is by creating a general plan for it. Let this be your map for players to target or eliminate.

With bye weeks in full effect, the less notable players become even more critical. I'd like to point out that finding players who are available during one of your starters' bye weeks and comparing their rankings.

Things, of course, change; we've seen that. Injuries happen, and when it's to the QB, the skill players suffer when it comes to fantasy.

It's essential to adjust to what has transpired; this ranking should help lay out expectations for players for the rest of your fantasy season.
