Unthinkable Shedeur Sanders-Shilo Sanders moment in play in NFL Draft after slide for Colorado Buffaloes legend

7 hours ago 1

The fact that Shedeur Sanders is still on the board as the NFL Draft heads to Day 3 is unthinkable by itself.

But it also opens up the door for what would've been an unbelievable outcome for everyone earlier this week.

Shedeur's brother, Shilo, could get drafted before the QB.

Shilo is a good player, a safety who made 137 tackles across two seasons at Colorado. But throughout the draft process, he's been regarded as a late-round pick.

That's much different than his brother, Shedeur, who was a consensus first-rounder who now hasn't been chosen through three rounds.

Deion Sanders' sons will both be NFL players, which has to be a proud moment for the family.

But it's officially happening in a manner nobody expected.

There's still a strong chance Shedeur is finally taken before Shilo, but the reverse is not impossible any longer.

It's all about reading the room. If no team has felt it important enough to take Shedeur through three rounds, what would make that change in the fourth?

There's not a huge quarterback market out there, and five teams have now landed QBs that didn't have them before with Cam Ward, Jaxson Dart, Tyler Shough, Jalen Milroe and Dillon Gabriel off the board.

Shedeur is officially a luxury kind of pick at this point. No one will be drafting him for need. They'll be drafting him for want.

And obviously, the want just isn't that high.

Shilo isn't necessarily a high-upside player, but he's got good NFL genes and can likely stick in the league.

The brothers probably will get to celebrate the beginning of their NFL careers together on Saturday. They just never pictured it would happen quite like this.
