A cowardly punk sucker-punched a Brooklyn bodega worker during a scuffle with a rowdy mob outside the Midwood market Monday night — with the shocking attack caught on surveillance video.
Police are now looking for the thug who slugged the 36-year-old victim from behind and sent him to the hospital with serious head injuries after workers at the Avenue M store refused to let the troublesome crew inside around 6 p.m., the dramatic footage shows.
A group of about a half-dozen is seen approaching the store, with several going inside — until one of them is stopped at the door and appears to get into a dispute with someone inside, the clip posted online Monday night by NYC Viral News shows.
“Open this door,” the punk is heard saying. “You can tell me excuse me. You don’t have to tell me and push the f—ing door in my face.”
He then shoves the door back into the worker.
“Calm the f–k down, don’t slam the door in my face,” he snaps.
Others in his gang are heard laughing, but the punk loses his nerve and runs off when the bodega worker comes out of the store and chases him onto the sidewalk.
But one of the brutes, seen wearing a blue hoodie and a backpack, runs out of the store and comes up behind the unsuspecting worker, who is cold-cocked before he has a chance to defend himself.
He also runs off, while others in the mob remain behind and are heard laughing.
Police said the injured worker, who was not identified, suffered a head injury and had a bloody face.
