North Carolina: Help is on the way.

In response to the never-ending headlines surrounding the drama of Bill Belichick and his girlfriend Jordon Hudson, UNC is reportedly going to beef up its public relations department.

The university is close to officially hiring former Chicago Bears PR chief Brandon Faber to help UNC navigate all the swirling talks around Belichick and his 24-year-old girlfriend.

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer reported that “Faber is being hired by UNC, rather than Belichick himself. His title is to be determined, but his role will be the de facto head of football communications.”

Pro Football Talk first reported that UNC was in talks with Faber regarding a role before Page Six reported that Faber was alongside Belichick at a promotional event for the coach’s new book last week.

Hudson was not in attendance.

UNC hiring some PR help comes after the latest round of headlines surrounding Hudson on Friday, when former ESPNer Pablo Torre reported the beauty queen was banned from North Carolina’s football facilities.

“While Jordon Hudson is not an employee at the University or Carolina Athletics, she is welcome to the Carolina Football facilities. Jordon will continue to manage all activities related to Coach Belichick’s personal brand outside of his responsibilities for Carolina Football and the University,” the UNC athletic department said in a statement.

While Belichick and Hudson’s relationship has been polarizing since its inception, the drama of it all hit the fan after Belichick’s recent “CBS Sunday Morning” interview, during which Hudson awkwardly intervened and cut off the reporter’s question about how the couple met, saying, “We’re not talking about this.”

This instance opened up a world of debate and investigation around Hudson and her motives in her relationship with the 73-year-old Tar Heels head coach.

With the sheer amount of drama that’s stirred while Hudson has been serving as the manager of Belichick’s personal brand, it seems as though bringing Faber aboard will ease up the tension surrounding it all.
