That’ll teach him.
A married principal at a UK school attacked a teacher with a wrench due to “overwhelming sexual jealousy” developed by a love triangle and has now been sentenced to jail, according to a report.
Anthony John Felton, 54, attacked Richard Pyke, 51, in a premeditated ambush at a school in Aberavon, South Wales — quietly approaching the seated teacher from behind, pulling the metal tool from a vest pocket, and swinging it at his head, the Independent reported.
As Pyke fell to the floor, Felton continued to try and bonk the educator who parried blows with kicks as he laid on his back in the school office, CCTV footage showed.
“Ultimately, the trigger for your act of extreme violence was of your own doing. The overwhelming sexual jealousy arising from an adulterous affair and the uncontrollable rage it created in you,” Judge Paul Thomas said at the sentencing in Swansea Crown Court Friday, according to the outlet.
“You are more than intelligent enough to realize when you plotted this bizarre attack that the impact and ramifications would be immense and far-reaching,” Thomas added.
The mad principal, who is married, was apparently outraged that Pyke had slept with another teacher with whom Felton had recently been in a relationship, the outlet reported.
Principal Felton further believed that he was the father of that female teacher’s child, according to the report.
Mr. Pyke suffered only minor injuries in the assault and was granted a restraining order against his old boss.
“The level of unprovoked violence, from a professional in the workplace, was shocking,” Abul Hussain of the Crown Prosecution Service said, according to the Independent.
“Too often we see attacks of this nature result in life-changing injuries or fatal consequences, and thankfully, that was not the result in this case,” Hussain added.
Felton was sentenced to two years and four months in jail, the Independent report stated.
