The UFC heads to the Intuit Dome in Inglewood on January 18 for UFC 311. The event has two title fights, with both contests featuring wrestling-based champions.
Islam Makhachev defends the UFC lightweight title against Renato Moicano. Makhachev (26-1) is on a fourteen-fight win streak and has successfully defended the lightweight title three times.
Moicano (20-5-1) is 12-5 in the octagon and is on a four-fight win streak. The 35-year-old replaces Arman Tsarukyan, who backed out the day before the fight due to injury.
The co-main event will see Merab Dvalishvili defend the UFC bantamweight title against Umar Nurmagomedov. Dvalishvili (18-4) beat Petr Yan, Henry Cejudo, and Sean O’Malley in his path to gold. The cousin of Khabib Nurmagomedov, Umar (18-0) is 6-0 in the octagon. He looks to prove he belongs in the main event.
