Texans head coach DeMeco Ryans fires back at NFL officials after terrible calls that favored Chiefs

The Houston Texans fell to the Kansas City Chiefs 23-14 in the divisional round of the playoffs, but not without multiple controversies.

Several calls in the game were questionable at best and bias at most. Will Anderson was flagged for roughing the passer on Patrick Mahomes on a third down that would have kept three points off the board for the Chiefs. Mahomes also drew a penalty on a slide in which he wasn't even hit. The horrid officiating caused many to voice their frustrations, including head coach DeMeco Ryans after the game.

"We knew going into this game that it was us vs. everybody," Ryans said. "And I mean everybody."

Ryans was clearly frustrated, and he has every right to be. The first penalty in particular put three extra points on the board for Kansas City. Had that not happened, it's a one-score game for the Texans on the final drive rather than an 11-point deficit. The NFL has a real officiating problem and it needs addressed.
