Some of the most memorable players in UConn Huskies men's basketball history were smaller guards who could really fill it up.
Connecticut, meet PJ Haggerty.
Haggerty entered the transfer portal on Tuesday from Kansas State, and he'll have almost everyone interested.
The blueprint has been built at UConn, though, by the historic likes of Kemba Walker, Ryan Boatright and Shabazz Napier.
Haggerty is coming off a great season for K-State in which he averaged 23.4 points, 5.3 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game. He shot 35.1% from 3-point range, as well.
He's certainly well traveled. He has played at TCU, Tulsa, Memphis and Kansas State.

He didn't do much of anything as a freshman at TCU, but the last three seasons, he has scored more than 20 points per game.
Haggerty was a second-team All-American in the 2024-25 season with Memphis before heading to Kansas State.
Evidently, Haggerty has one season of eligibility remaining.
The Huskies should give him a call. Dan Hurley hasn't used the transfer portal as much as some programs, but this is the kind of player that has an interesting added layer -- Haggerty has yet to play in a program as prominent as UConn. With better players around him, it'd be exciting to see what he might be able to pull off in an NCAA Tournament.
