In an unexpected turn of events, an Ivy League star seems set to leave his school to pursue higher level basketball.

Xaivian Lee, who has spent the past three seasons at Princeton, will test the NBA Draft process while maintaining his college eligibility, entering the transfer portal. ESPN's Jonathan Givony was the first to report the news.

NEWS: Princeton's Xaivian Lee will enter the transfer portal, his agent George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group told ESPN.

Lee will also test the NBA draft process, while maintaining his college eligibility.

The breakout star, who this past season averaged 17.7 points, 6.2 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game this season while shooting 37 percent from three-point range, entered the portal with a "Do Not Contact" designation, meaning he does not want coaches to reach out to him and that he must initiate contact with any potential schools he may transfer to.

Lee, a dual citizen of the United States and Canada and of South Korean descent, rose to stardom in recent years. While he was a bench piece in the Tigers' 2023 Sweet Sixteen run in his freshman season, he became the team's go-to scoring option when Tosan Evbuoman left for the NBA and Ryan Langborg transferred to Northwestern.

If Lee leaves Princeton, he will have left with over 1,154 points scored and as a two-time First Team All-Ivy League selection. This past season, he also became the first player in program history to record a triple-double in a win over Saint Joseph's.

"Expect a long line of Power 5 suitors vying for his services," Givony said.
