Regardless of where Chelsea finish in the Premier League table and irrespective of whether they achieve continental success, the Blues are set for a big summer in the transfer window.
One of their top priorities this window will be the signing of a world-class striker who can seemingly score goals for fun, as that’s one area where the club has lacked this season.
Though Nicolas Jackson refound his scoring boots to hand Chelsea a crucial 1-0 win over Everton over the weekend, the Senegalese hasn’t done enough to nail down his spot as Enzo Maresca’s first-choice striker.
Therefore, it comes as no surprise that Chelsea have been linked to Victor Osimhen once again. The Stamford Bridge side were in talks to sign the big Nigerian striker last summer before talks broke down in the final stages.
However, if former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel is to be believed, Osimhen has his heart set on playing for Chelsea.
Speaking in an interview as seen on X, Mikel said, “He wants to play for Chelsea. I know where we stopped in terms of the contract, I know where we are. It’s an easy fix, because we’ve done all the hard work last summer.”

Why Osimhen would be a good signing for Chelsea
Not only is Osimhen keen to play for Chelsea, but he is also widely regarded as one of the most prolific strikers in world football. His addition would add a whole different dimension to the Chelsea attack and would certainly be an upgrade on the likes of Nicolas Jackson.
Having scored 31 goals already in all competitions this season, Osimhen is once again proving his pedigree as a lethal striker. Given his stature and his goal-scoring prowess, he might be the one who can hit the ground running in the Premier League.
