WWE CCO Triple H might hire another top star as his deal with AEW is ending soon. Ortiz was well-known for his tag team partnership with Mike Santana. Even though they were a successful team, Mike insisted on separating the duo as he wanted to be a singles star. Things didn't end well for either of them.

Recently, the 34-year-old star revealed that he has been working as a backstage coach and producer for AEW and has only one year left on his contract. Meanwhile, Santana has been successful as a singles star and is the TNA World Champion. He also makes sporadic appearances on NXT as a part of the WWE-TNA relationship.

If Tony Khan releases Ortiz in the future, Triple H should sign him and debut him on NXT. The WWE CCO could also reunite Ortiz and Santana if they decide to put their real-life differences aside. The duo could also be a mainstay on TNA and dominate the tag team division.

Ortiz reveals why he and Mike Santana were separated in AEW

Proud and Powerful did their best to climb the ladder to the top of the AEW tag team division. However, with the company signing other top stars, it became difficult for them to keep pace. In 2023, the duo decided to split up.

While speaking on the Shining Wizards Podcast, Ortiz revealed that Santana decided to break their tag team because he wanted to succeed as a singles star.

"Unfortunately, it wasn’t the company’s call to split us. Me and Santana just couldn’t get it together personally and he was just very adamant about not working with me anymore. "It was supposed to happen more than once. But just due to stuff out of our control, out of my control, it just never seemed to pan out," Ortiz explained.

It remains to be seen what will be next for Ortiz.
