Trent Alexander-Arnold switch to USA from England viral post isn't what it seems

Trent Alexander-Arnold certainly is facing disappointment right now.

The star right back, formerly of Liverpool and now of Real Madrid, isn't a part of the England squad at the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Even when England needed a replacement right back, Thomas Tuchel didn't turn to Trent.

That has sprouted quite the rumor. Social media is buzzing over the idea that Alexander-Arnold is switching his allegiance to the United States.

Is Trent Alexander-Arnold switching to USA?

No, Trent is not switching to the U.S.

The rumor started from this account's post:

[🟢] BREAKING: Former Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold is set to switch his allegiance to the United States.

The right back is furious about his England treatment and is now set to represent the USA. 🇺🇸

The problem: That's not real news.

Alexander-Arnold doesn't appear to be eligible to play for the United States in the first place.

And the one-time FIFA switch cannot occur this deep into a player's international career representing a different country.

You'd also think Trent expects to push for a place back in the England squad.

Regardless, he won't be playing for the United States. That's simply not true.
