The Portland Trail Blazers just traded away a high-scoring guard in the form of Anfernee Simons.
If their staff develops its new talent correctly, they may have a replacement.
Almost immediately after Thursday's NBA Draft second round ended, the Blazers had an undrafted free agent agreement in place with Caleb Love.
Love starred in college for North Carolina and then Arizona, finishing his NCAA career with 2,762 points.
The 6-foot-4 Love can play on the ball or off the ball. In his final season with the Wildcats, Love averaged 17.2 points and 3.4 assists per game.

He shot just 32.6% from 3-point range in his college career, up at 34% in his final season. He's mostly just streaky from distance. In his best games, he can knock a ton down.
The Trail Blazers can let Love develop on a two-way deal with time in the G League while Scoot Henderson runs the show in Portland.
Eventually, Love might be ready to be a microwave scorer off the bench for Portland.
He may never be up to Simons' level, but as an undrafted free agent, if he brings along any of those skills, that's a good thing.
