Tracy McGrady’s one on one basketball league expands for 2026 season

It’s expansion time for Tracy McGrady’s Ones Basketball League as the one on one competition comes back for a revamped 2026 season.

McGrady, 47, founded the the league back in 2022, and now it’s returning this year with a bigger structure called OBL Battle of the Cities. The tournament officially relaunched on May 15 and is scheduled to continue through early July with a stronger focus on one on one matchups and city based competition.

OBL also announced that Super Patch would be the league’s official performance and recovery partner for this year. This relationship includes athlete support and digital content as well as live events connected to the league throughout the summer.

The format itself remains the biggest draw around the league. Every possession becomes an isolated matchup with nowhere to hide defensively and no teammates stepping in to slow momentum swings. That creates a faster style of basketball where conditioning, focus, and recovery become easier to notice over the course of a game.

McGrady has also brought several recognizable NBA figures into the project through coaching, ownership, and mentorship roles. Vince Carter, Tim Hardaway Sr., John Wall, Quinn Cook, Muggsy Bogues, and Jaylen Brown are all connected to the league as OBL continues trying to build momentum around the format.

Founded by entrepreneur Jay Dhaliwal, Super Patch has gained traction in sports through wearable recovery and performance technology tied to focus and balance.

The league’s structure gives performance related brands a natural opening because of how exposed players are in one on one settings. Fatigue becomes more obvious and every decision carries more weight during isolation play.

As the summer schedule continues, OBL is still carving out its identity within the basketball landscape by combining direct competition, former NBA star involvement, and a format that looks very different from traditional team basketball.
