Top Aaron Rodgers target ready for another 'special connection' vs. Bills

He missed two practice days, but New York Jets' wide receiver Davante Adams likely won't miss the opportunity to be on the field for a special moment with quarterback Aaron Rodgers.

As the Jets visit the Buffalo Bills on December 29, Rodgers is one touchdown pass away from becoming only the fifth player in NFL history to throw for 500 touchdowns.

Adams has six touchdown catches from Rodgers this season and has hooked up with the QB1 on 82 TDs, including playoffs, over the course of his career, which began with the Green Bay Packers in 2014.

"I got 200, I got 400, so it would be dope to get 500 as well," said Adams, who produced five consecutive Pro Bowl seasons while catching passes from Rodgers in Green Bay. "We've had some special connections in the past, so it'd be great and obviously it'd be a big, big thing for him."

Meanwhile, Adams is fighting through an injury. He banged up his hip during the Week 16 loss to the Los Angeles Rams and subsequently logged back-to-back DNPs on the official injury report.

"We still working through it, treating it, trying to get right so we can hopefully be there ready by game time," said Adams on Friday in Florham Park.

Adams seemingly made strides while practicing on Friday.

"Davante went out there today in a limited fashion, and I thought he looked good," said interim head coach Jeff Ulbrich.

The 32-year-old Adams is officially listed as questionable to make his 10th start as a Jet.

"I would say I'm optimistic," said Adams, who is 72 yards away from a 1,000-yard receiving season.
