Team India will clash with Australia in a five-match T20I series Down Under, which will be held from October 29 to November 8. The T20I series follows the three-match one-day series, which Australia won by a 2-1 margin. Having lost the ODIs, the Men in Blue will be keen to win the T20I series.
The five-match T20I series will kick off with the opening clash at the Manuka Oval in Canberra on October 29. The subsequent games of the much-awaited series will be held in Melbourne (October 31), Hobart (November 2), Gold Coast (November 6) and Brisbane (November 8).
India have so far featured in 18 T20Is in Australia, winning 11 and losing six. One match ended in no result. Against Australia in Australia, they have played 12 T20Is, winning seven and losing four, while one game ended in no result. Ahead of the five-match series Down Under, we take a look at five Indian bowlers who have claimed the most number of wickets in T20Is in Australia.
#5 Krunal Pandya
Left-arm spinner and all-rounder Krunal Pandya is fifth on the list of Indian bowlers with most wickets in T20Is in Australia. In three matches, he has claimed five wickets at an average of 23.40 and an economy rate of 9.75. Krunal's best of 4-36 came against Australia in Sydney in November 2018. He won the Player of the Match as Team India won the game by six wickets.
#4 Ravindra Jadeja, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Mohammad Shami and T Natarajan
Four bowlers jointly occupy the fourth position on the list of Indian bowlers with most wickets in T20Is in Australia. Left-arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja played six T20Is Down Under, claiming six wickets at an average of 22.16 and an economy rate of 7.82. Bhuvneshwar Kumar picked up six scalps in nine T20Is at an average of 30.50 and an economy rate of 6.38.
Seasoned pacer Mohammad Shami also has six wickets in seven T20Is in Australia. His wickets have come at an average of 31.50 and an economy rate of 7.87. Also, left-arm pacer T Natarajan has six scalps in three T20Is Down Under. He has an average of 13.83 and an economy rate of 6.91.
#3 Jasprit Bumrah
Lead pacer Jasprit Bumrah is third on the list of Indian bowlers with most wickets in T20Is in Australia. In six matches, he has claimed eight wickets at an average of 22.75 and an economy rate of 8.08.
Bumrah's best in T20Is Down Under is 3-23, which came against Australia in Adelaide in January 2016. The right-arm pacer also claimed 2-37 against the Aussies at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in the same series.
#2 Arshdeep Singh
Left-arm pacer Arshdeep Singh holds the record for having claimed the most number of wickets for Team India in T20Is - 101 wickets in 65 matches. He is second on the list of Indian bowlers with most wickets in T20Is in Australia.

In six T20Is Down Under, Arshdeep has picked up 10 wickets at an average of 15.60 and an economy rate of 7.80. The 26-year-old Punjab pacer registered figures of 3-32 against Pakistan in Melbourne in the 2022 T20 World Cup. He also claimed 2-25 against South Africa in Perth and 2-38 against Bangladesh in Adelaide in the same tournament.
#1 Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya
Former Team India off spinner Ravichandran Ashwin and experienced all-rounder Hardik Pandya jointly hold the record for claiming most wickets by Men in Blue players in T20Is in Australia.
In 11 matches, Ashwin picked up 11 wickets at an average of 27.54 and an economy rate of 7.76. His best of 3-22 came against Zimbabwe in Melbourne in the 2022 T20 World Cup. Ashwin also claimed 2-28 against the Aussies in Adelaide in January 2016.
As for Pandya, he has claimed 11 scalps in 12 matches at an average of 20.36 and an economy rate of 8.96. His best T20I figures Down Under were registered against Pakistan in Melbourne in the 2022 T20 World Cup as he claimed 3-30. Pandya also picked up 2-37 against Australia in Adelaide in January 2016.
