"Took away our mojo": Amon-Ra St. Brown reveals referee banned him, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams from doing 'booger fling' celebration

Amon-Ra St. Brown's Detroit Lions suffered a 41-34 loss to the Detroit Lions in Week 15 on Sunday. While the Lions fell to their sixth loss of the season, there was another talking point during the game after Detroit wideout St. Brown caught a 14-yard touchdown pass on the opening drive. St. Brown then performed a unique 'booger pick and flick' celebration with his teammates, Jahmyr Gibbs and Jameson Williams, after his score.

On Wednesday, St. Brown shared the origins of his celebration on the "Up&Adams" show, including an exchange with the referee.

"It came from one of our DT, Tyleik (Williams), one of our rookies, and I was walking in the locker room," St. Brown said. "I think it was probably Wednesday. He said, 'Hey, bro, you should do this.' Goes his nose, flicks it. I was like, 'It's not bad.' "So I told Jahmyr, I told JMo (Jameson). I was like, 'if we get a first down in this game, we need to do it' ... I get the first down, I do it. JMo gets the first down; he does it. Jahmyr gets the first down, he does, and then after the first drive, the ref says, 'Yeah, you guys can't be doing that.' I'm like, 'they just took away all our mojo.'"

St. Brown had a solid game against the Rams. He posted 162 yards and two touchdowns on 13 receptions.

Williams recorded 134 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions, while Gibbs posted 38 yards on 13 carries along with 20 yards on four receptions.

However, Detroit's offensive players were banned from using the 'booger pick and flick' celebration after the first drive.

Amon-Ra St. Brown's Lions (8-6) will face the Pittsburgh Steelers (8-6) in Week 16 of the 2025 NFL season on Sunday. The game will kick off at 4:25 p.m. ET from Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan.

The Lions are third in the NFC North. They need to win their three remaining regular season games to give themselves the best chance of making the playoffs.
