Where art thou Tony nominations?

Some of the biggest stars in Hollywood were snubbed when the 2025 Tony Award nominations were announced Tuesday.

While George Clooney, Nicole Scherzinger, Sarah Snook, Sadie Sink and more were recognized for their Broadway performances, other actors like Denzel Washington, Jake Gyllenhaal and Kieran Culkin failed to make the nominations list.

Washington, 70, and Gyllenhaal, 44, were snubbed for their leading performances in “Othello,” which has generated controversy for its high ticket costs. The show was completely shut out of the nominations.

Some seats for “Othello” are upwards of $900. The adaptation of the Shakespearean tragedy sold over $2.8 million in tickets during its first full week of previews at the Barrymore Theater in March, becoming the highest-grossing Broadway play at the time.

“I’ve been blessed beyond measure for a long time,” Washington said to Entertainment Tonight last month when asked about the high ticket prices. “I’m not bragging, but I’ve been a part of sold-out shows before.”

“God has blessed me with a great ability, and I’m humbled by the reaction and the response that we’re getting, and I’m humbled by the opportunity to share with celebrity, or to use my celebrity to help others,” he continued. “That’s what it’s about.”

Washington also missed out on an Oscar nomination for his role in “Gladiator II” earlier this year, though he later said he wasn’t bothered by the snub.

Culkin, 42, was expected to receive a Tony nom for “Glengarry Glen Ross.” Both he and Bill Burr were snubbed, while their co-star Bob Odenkirk secured his first-ever Tony nomination.

Culkin notably won an Oscar in March for “A Real Pain” and an Emmy last year for “Succession.”

Other stars who were snubbed by the Tonys include Idina Menzel for “Redwood,” Jim Parsons for “Our Town,” Robert Downey Jr. for “McNeal” and Julianna Margulies for “Left on Tenth.”

Nick Jonas and Adrienne Warren also didn’t land nominations for “The Last Five Years.”

“Maybe Happy Ending,” “Death Becomes Her” and “Buena Vista Social Club” led the 2025 nominations with 10 nods each.

Clooney (“Good Night, and Good Luck”), Scherzinger (“Sunset Boulevard”), Snook (“The Picture of Dorian Gray”) and Sink (“John Proctor Is the Villain”) were among the first-time nominees.

Meanwhile, Audra McDonald made history with the most Tony nominations of any performer in Broadway history. Her role in “Gypsy” marked her 11th nomination.
