Tony Khan has just made a last-minute announcement mere hours before tonight's edition of AEW Dynamite. He has announced that a popular name will be out of action tonight due to injury, and they will be replaced.
Yesterday, TK revealed that a three-match Advantage Battle will be conducted to determine which sides will gain the advantage in both the Men's and Women's Blood and Guts matches. The first side to win two out of three of the listed matches will win this, with the third match only being necessary should each party take a win apiece.
It was previously announced that the first match for the women's side will see Queen Aminata take on Megan Bayne. Tony Khan has announced that, unfortunately, Aminata was pulled from the match as she was not cleared by AEW medical staff. She will be replaced by Mina Shirakawa, someone who also has a history of dealing with the Triangle of Madness and Bayne herself.
Queen Aminata's status for the Blood and Guts match remains up in the air, and there is a chance she'll be cleared for next week's bout. TK has also revealed that Toni Storm will be at ringside on the commentary desk for tonight's match.
What are the two other matches in the AEW Women's Blood and Guts Advantage Battle?
Tonight's show will feature the first wave of matches for the Women's Blood and Guts Advantage Battle. The rest of the matches are set to take place on AEW Collision this coming weekend.
Mina Shirakawa and Megan Bayne will be slugging it out tonight to gain the upper hand in this head-to-head battle. Jamie Hayter and Skye Blue will take center stage this Saturday for the second bout. If each side ends up winning one match apiece, the third match will also take place this weekend, with Thekla taking on Halrey Cameron.
