The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are still licking their wounds after the 29-28 loss on Thursday night to the Atlanta Falcons, which has head coach Todd Bowles saying all sorts of curse words in his post-game press conference.
With the Buccaneers up 28-14 in the fourth quarter, they seemed to have the game in hand, but Kirk Cousins rallied his team to complete a superb comeback.
With the mood noticeably down post-game, the Buccaneers now have their biggest game of the year, against the Carolina Panthers in Week 16.
But can the Buccaneers snap back into form to get what would be a monumental win?
“I don't think you can snap into it,” Bowles said. “I think you have to grind it out. You just got to take it one day at a time, one play at a time. You're not going to snap into being good or snap into being worse. You got to take it play by play. And you just got to do the little things right, then the big things will come.”
Buccaneers' NFC South path clear
When the Buccaneers lost to the Falcons, many were down about the franchise's ability to win the division, as some think it's over. But there is something to be reminded of -- the Bucs play the Carolina Panthers twice in their last three games.
Given that Dave Canales' team is the only challenger, all Tampa Bay has to do is beat the Panthers twice, and it'll be division champs again.
Simple, right?
It sounds like it, but with the Buccaneers in this sort of form, it is going to be tough. Bowles says the team can't just snap into good form, but something substantial is going to have to change if they want to claim the division for a fifth-straight year.
