Lorenzo Carter signed in free agency with the Tennessee Titans on March 20.
It was quite the four months and a day.
On Monday, Carter retired from the NFL at age 29 without ever suiting up for the Titans, according to beat reporter Jim Wyatt.
Carter is the latest of a long list of sub-30 players to retire this offseason.
"He notified us (Monday) that he will be retiring," Titans GM Mike Borgonzi said, "so we wish him well."

The 6-foot-5 outside linebacker was a third-round pick by the Giants in 2018 out of Georgia.
He spent his first four seasons with New York, totaling 14.5 sacks and 153 tackles.
Carter then went to Atlanta for three years. He added 7.0 sacks and 125 tackles for the Falcons.
This was set to be Carter's third NFL stop, but he has stepped away from football instead.
The Titans have their first training camp practice Wednesday. Carter won't be there.
