The Minnesota Timberwolves have reached the day that the trade would have to happen.
If they want Giannis Antetokounmpo, it happens Thursday, because by the end of the day, the NBA trade deadline will have passed.
The Wolves, of course, aren't the only team interested in the Milwaukee Bucks' superstar. They are one of the most compelling, though.
A combination of Giannis with Anthony Edwards would be scintillating for years to come.

That's seeming less likely as of Thursday morning, though, after a new report from ESPN's Brian Windhorst.
“I’ve been at 51-49 against a trade," Windhorst said of the idea of the Bucks trading Giannis at all. "I’m now at 60-40... Minnesota is still out there but I’ll be honest with you, I don’t think (Wolves') offer was as good as Golden State and if (Warriors') offer wasn’t good enough, I don’t think Minnesota is realistic. That leaves Miami. Miami is making a player and semi draft pick offer, it’s a decent offer... Unless there’s a secret thing going on I’m not feeling Giannis moving right now."
It has been quite the active pre-deadline trade season already, but the vibes would change a bit if Giannis didn't get moved.

James Harden, Jaren Jackson Jr., Jonathan Kuminga, Nikola Vucevic, Kristaps Porzingis, Anthony Davis and Coby White are just some of the players who have been dealt in the past few days.
From a neutral fan's perspective, an Antetokounmpo deal would put the cherry on top of this busy trade season.
But for a Minnesota fan, anything other than Giannis moving to the Timberwolves would be a bummer, and right now, it seems to be leaning in that direction.
