The Detroit Tigers lack power in their lineup.
It's something they could and should address at this year's trade deadline. Adding some pop could help them claim an extra game or two in the standings.
It may be tricky, and there's no indication that the Tigers would consider the deal, but Bleacher Report's Zachary D. Rymer linked the AL Central club to a three-time All-Star from the San Francisco Giants.
"What's true either way is that they need a bat, and specifically a power bat. They've hit only 38 home runs, ranking them firmly in the bottom 10 of MLB," Rymer wrote Wednesday. "This is just one aspect of why [Rafael] Devers should appeal to them. The other is that he would stop a pathetic revolving door at DH. Colt Keith has taken the bulk of his plate appearances there, and he's still stuck on zero home runs."
Devers hit 35 home runs last season but has hit just five in 2026 with the San Francisco Giants.
There are murmurings that the Giants could be looking to move the Silver Slugger less than one year after acquiring him from the Boston Red Sox.

Obviously, less than two months does not define Devers' season. He has the power to hit over 30 homers this year. The Tigers could benefit greatly with someone like that in their lineup.
Keith or Spencer Torkelson could DH on the days manager A.J. Hinch puts Devers at first base. It's not a perfect fit, but there is potential value to Devers in Detroit.
