There's still no confirmation on whether the Detroit Tigers will be buyers or sellers at this year's trade deadline.
Of course, the next week and change will determine the future of back-to-back AL Cy Young Award winner Tarik Skubal.
If the Tigers struggle, Skubal will be traded. If they find success, they'd most likely keep the left-hander in hopes of making a postseason run.
In the event the Tigers are buyers, they could call the San Francisco Giants for help in the outfield, writes Bleacher Report's Kerry Miller.
"Save for Riley Greene, outfield has been a disaster for Detroit," Miller wrote. "Even as they've turned things around as a team since the beginning of June, the Tigers have gotten next to nothing out of the likes of Matt Vierling, James Outman and Kerry Carpenter."
Greene is having another strong season at the plate, but Detroit has received minimal production from others.
Jung Hoo Lee is 'perfect' trade fit for Tigers
"His .303 batting average and nearly indistinguishable LHP/RHP splits could be the ticket that gets Detroit over the hump," Miller wrote about the possibility of the Tigers acquiring Jung Hoo Lee from the Giants.
Beyond this season, Lee is owed three years and $63 million. Would the Tigers take on that contract?

"Detroit is presently right on the luxury tax cutline and would probably ask the Giants for some cash to broker this deal," Miller added. "But Detroit also has approximately $110M worth of 2026 salary that might/will hit free agency this winter and reasonably could take on the 3 years, $63M remaining on Jung Hoo Lee's contract beyond this season."
The Giants are obvious sellers, and they may prefer to get off Lee's contract to acquire prospects any way they can.
This would be a solid deal for the Tigers to make but won't turn them into World Series contenders.
