Tiger Woods didn’t provide any hints as to whether he would be competing in the Masters, as he competed in the TGL final on Tuesday.
Woods tried to keep perspective on the moment as he appeared in his first TGL event of the season when he spoke with ESPN’s Scott Van Pelt prior to the start of Jupiter Links Golf Club’s eventual loss to the champion Los Angeles Golf Club at the SoFi Center.
“As far as setting myself for the future, I think it’s just one step at a time,” Woods said. “Tonight’s a nice step, because I haven’t played competitively in a very long time. It’s been a very long year of rehabbing, so go out here and have some fun. Compete and contribute to the team.”

APWoods hasn’t played in a competitive golf round since the Open Championship in 2024 and, up until Tuesday, hadn’t competed in the TGL – the indoor golf league that Woods helped found – in over a year.
Woods is a little under six months removed from disc replacement surgery, and prior to that, he had sustained a ruptured left Achilles tendon, which required surgery in March 2025.
The big question since Woods announced he would play on Tuesday was whether he would be on the course at Augusta National for the Masters, a tournament he’s won five times during his illustrious career.
Woods has left the door open to participating in this year’s Masters and the decision to take part in Tuesday’s TGL final is a chance for the golfer to get into a competitive event in a less pressured environment.
The Hoag Classic, a Champions Tour event at Newport Beach Country Club, which begins later this week, also could provide another chance for Woods to really test where he’s at in his rehab.

“It’s been a while. It’s one of those things where I want to contribute to the team,” he said. “I’ve been a cheerleader along all these matches. I just want to contribute. These guys are unbelievable guys. Great group to be around.”
Spotted among the spectators at the SoFi Center in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, was Woods’ girlfriend, Vanessa Trump, and her daughter Kai, the Daily Mail reported.
Vanessa is the former daughter-in-law of president Donald Trump and Kai is the Commander-in-Chief’s granddaughter.
Woods and Vanessa confirmed that they were dating in social media posts in March of last year.
