AEW hosted its sixth anniversary episode of Dynamite last month and planned a special surprise for its fans on the show. The episode marked the return of Andrade to the All Elite promotion, just weeks after being released from his WWE contract, making it a huge surprise for everyone.
However, what seemed like a well-kept surprise has turned out to be a nightmare for both Andrade and AEW as El Idolo reportedly broke the 90-day non-compete clause. He has not been seen on TV since his re-debut, and reports are suggesting that WWE may stop him from appearing for any promotion for a year for violating the non-compete clause.
Former WWE writer Vince Russo was talking on the final episode of Writing with Russo on Sportskeeda WrestleBinge, where he offered some advice to AEW. He said that if the matter is taken to court, it is likely to fall in Andrade and AEW's favour as it's been proven in the past that these things wouldn't hold up in the court of law.
"Let's face it, man. Vince McMahon and TKO, do they have great lawyers? Yeah, bro. So do the Khans, okay. When you're billionaires, man, you've got good lawyers. And I tell you, bro, I remember this going all the way back to about 1995-ish when Steven Regal fought this, and it came back- you cannot prevent somebody from making a living. And he won, and he was able to work. So, I mean, it's been proven in the past that this will not hold up in a court of law," Russo said.Secret reason behind John Cena's massive win - Watch Here!
Andrade's future within the company has been in limbo for several weeks now. He was treated as a major star on his return to AEW, as he attacked Kenny Omega and was revealed as the latest member of the Don Callis Family. He did return to the independent circuit as well and made an appearance for The Crash Lucha Libre, where he is the current Crash Heavyweight Champion.
