NBA fans erupted after the latest news regarding Mac McClung. The reigning Dunk Champion, who has been searching for a home since arriving in the league, finally found a home with the Indiana Pacers.

According to ESPN's NBA Insider Shams Charania, McClung had signed a multi-year contract with the Pacers. This is the first time since joining the league in 2021 that McClung has signed a regular contract with an NBA team.

"Sounds like the Pacers have given up on the season already."

Another fan said that McClung's Pacers deal was NBA Commissioner Adam Silver's idea.

"This was an Adam Silver move."

Moreover, one of the fans was also skeptical about the motive behind the Pacers' decision to sign the reigning Dunk Champion.

"this contract is only to secure him a guaranteed spot in the dunk contest😂."

A fan was happy for the reigning Dunk Champion getting fruits for his hard work.

"Really happy for him - there's the dunk stuff for fun, but the guy prepares like a professional and works on his game as well."

Meanwhile, one fan praised the Pacers for giving McClung a chance with a respectful deal.

"Finally got a solid deal. Shoutout to the Pacers for giving him a chance with Hali out."

A fan was hopeful that Mac McClung might finally get some minutes under Rick Carlisle.

"Might actually be a good spot for him. Carlisle is great at bringing the best out of all his players. Might see more in Mac than we've seen before."

One of the fans slammed the league for treating McClung like a "circus animal," just for him to appear in the Dunk Contest.

"hope they give bro a chance to actually play instead of having him do every dunk contest like a circus animal."

Patrick Beverley defends his bold Mac McClung take

Some fans could argue that Mac McClung was the best dunker in the NBA in the last five years. While McClung had barely gotten any chance to play in the NBA game, he has been the highlight of the All-Star Weekend. He has won the last three dunk contests.

However, for Patrick Beverley, there is someone else who was a better dunker than McClung. According to the free agent NBA star, Johnny Furphy, from Indiana, was a better dunker than Mac McClung.

"Best White Dunker We’ve seen in a while," he wrote in his tx

When a fan refuted Beverley's claim, the former LA Clippers star had a perfect reply.

"what game u remember Mac dunking in?? its ok i’ll wait."

With Mac McClung hopefully getting some playing time, NBA fans expect highlights from the dunker.
