Chelsea fans have been left disappointed after coach Enzo Maresca opted to start both Trevoh Chalobah and Tosin Adarabioyo at the heart of their defence. The Blues are set to take on newly-promoted Burnley at Turf Moor in the first Premier League game after this month's international break.

Former Leicester City boss Maresca has developed a bit of a reputation as a tinker man this season with his regular changes to the starting XI for games. The Italian tactician made four changes to the lineup, with ex-Fulham man Adarabioyo coming in for Wesley Fofana in one of them.

Chelsea fans have been largely unconvinced by the displays of England-born 28-year-old Adarabioyo, leading many of them to be apprehensive of his inclusion in the XI. A section of these fans have taken to X to air their opinions on Maresca's choice of a centre-back partnership, revealing their apprehension.

A fan shared the XI for the game on their account.

Another fan pointed out that they had lost any excitement for the game after seeing the XI.

A fan called out Maresca for including Adarabioyo in the XI, calling it a 'disaster'.

A fan referred to the partnership of the pair of Englishmen as 'hideous'.

Another fan prayed against a disastrous showing from the central defensive pair.

@CFCDaily Tosin and chalobah I just pray we don't see another disaster class today

Enzo Maresca's changes for the game also included the return of captain Reece James to the XI for Malo Gusto, who scored his first professional goal in his last Chelsea appearance. Moises Caicedo has also been named on the bench following his late arrival from international duty with Ecuador, and Andrey Santos starts in his place. Jamie Gittens has also been included from the start, while Alejandro Garnacho has been named on the bench.

Garnacho in line for PL landmark as Chelsea visit Burnley

Chelsea forward Alejandro Garnacho is in line to make his 100th Premier League appearance as the Blues are set to face Burnley. The 21-year-old has been named on the bench for the clash at Turf Moor, with England U-21 international Jamie Gittens starting in his place.

Garnacho (21 years, 144 days) will become the youngest South American to reach 100 PL appearances if he plays at any point against the Clarets. He will eclipse the record of Arsenal forward Gabriel Martinelli, who made his 100th appearance in the competition aged 22 years and 125 days old.

Alejandro Garnacho provided two assists for the Blues in their 3-0 win over Wolves last time out. The Argentina international has scored 17 goals and provided ten assists in his 99 games in the Premier League.
