The New York Jets have announced the firing of defensive coordinator Steve Wilks following their blowout 48-20 loss against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

The Jets have had a terrible defensive record this year, as the franchise has not recorded an interception and has conceded 82 points in the last two games. Jets coach Aaron Glenn announced Wilks' firing on Monday.

"I thought it was time to make a change," Glenn said. "I'm going to make the decision that's best for this organization at all times. "I want to see consistent improvement. ... I want to see the culture of this football team come together."
