“THIS IS SO EMBARASSING” - Fans outraged as DJ Tukutz shares receiving insults from a BTS fan after jokingly naming Taehyung as his rival

The December 12 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Hangout with Yoo featured Epik High member DJ Tukutz sharing an unexpected aftermath of a past joke involving BTS’ Taehyung. Tukutz, whose real name is Kim Jeong-sik, is a South Korean DJ, producer, and composer. During the broadcast, Tukutz revisited his earlier appearance on Radio Star.

At the time, he jokingly named V as his "rival," also explaining his thinking behind the comment. He stressed that the remark was clearly meant as humor. Tukutz then revealed that the comment later drew an unexpected response. Tukutz shared that he received a direct message from an overseas fan, which contained insults.

Fans are reacting by criticizing the fan’s behavior. They feel that acting in V’s name without his involvement damages his image rather than protecting it.

Fans are saying that Tukuz made light of the situation, and the way he recalled it came across as genuinely "hilarious." While many feel the moment was clearly meant as a joke, they also believe people shouldn’t be sending insults over it.

BTS and Epik High’s long-standing bond in K-hip hop

BTS and Epik High have maintained a long-standing relationship in the Korean music space. Their association dates back to BTS’ early years, even before their official debut.
