The December 12 broadcast of MBC’s variety show Hangout with Yoo featured Epik High member DJ Tukutz sharing an unexpected aftermath of a past joke involving BTS’ Taehyung. Tukutz, whose real name is Kim Jeong-sik, is a South Korean DJ, producer, and composer. During the broadcast, Tukutz revisited his earlier appearance on Radio Star.

At the time, he jokingly named V as his "rival," also explaining his thinking behind the comment. He stressed that the remark was clearly meant as humor. Tukutz then revealed that the comment later drew an unexpected response. Tukutz shared that he received a direct message from an overseas fan, which contained insults.

Fans are reacting by criticizing the fan’s behavior. They feel that acting in V’s name without his involvement damages his image rather than protecting it.

"THIS IS SO EMBARASSING...you guys in the name of a fan ruining V's image...and if v got to know i m sure he will apologize to him on Ur stupid behalf ...this is what i meant when i say if taehyung got to know how stupid people decide on his behalf he will be embarassed 😭," an X user commented.

Several users have labeled the fan's DM as "embarrassing."

Why would you in right mind curse a joke! That person just embarrassed us in front of the world. I hope no one ever speaks to a celebrity like this without a reason.

Damnnnnn that was embarassing 😭😭🤣🤣

this embarrassing as hell bruh who tf thought it was a good idea to send that message

Fans are saying that Tukuz made light of the situation, and the way he recalled it came across as genuinely "hilarious." While many feel the moment was clearly meant as a joke, they also believe people shouldn’t be sending insults over it.

This is hilarious im sorry 🤣 im glad he was able to make light of such situation. Sometimes some people dont know how to handle a joke.

Fans should really take a chill pill but it was so funny how he said it

The way he recall it is actually hilarious 😂 but yeah don’t send people insults over obvious joke, chill 😅
